Participants will also get the opportunity to use the Adobe Premier Pro (VERSION CS4) digital editing system. In this course Moo Young teaches budding photographers, and seasoned ones, the techniques manipulating lighting, texture, composition and other elements to create the perfect photograph. Students must have their own camera. A digital camera is not required.

At the University level, students are expected to conduct research, and evaluation in a short time, while producing accurate information. In this course you will learn how to amplify your presentations with slideshows that support your goal and illustrates your message. The course covers message-planning and includes practical sessions on the fundamentals of layout and design, working with graphs and charts as well as incorporating sound, motion and links.

Event Planning

This course provides a practical introduction to events planning, and outlines the steps that are necessary for executing successful events. It is suitable for event planners (both practicing and aspiring), public relations practitioners and other persons who are or may be involved in this activity.
The course will stress the importance of adopting a systematic approach to event planning and management by identifying the various tasks and activities that must be accomplished to achieve success.
Topics include management; categories and types of special events; goal and objective setting; the phases of events planning including concept, situation analysis (feasibility), analysis and planning, strategy, implementation including publicity and promotion, budgeting, evaluation; corporate event planning; entertainment; site selection and inspection; food and beverage management, sponsorship, negotiations and contracts.
Participants will be required to plan an event as well as complete project management forms and time sheets. They will also be provided with a comprehensive handout at the end of the course.

Feature Writing for Magazines & Newspapers

Feature writers are (factual) storytellers. This hands-on course will help to stimulate participants to look beyond the obvious, identify, develop and write about the numerous stories unfolding around them daily and earn money.
The workshop includes identifying topics; exploring various forms of feature writing; gathering information; writing clear, catchy and concise copy; and pitching stories to editors. These will be done through lecture, discussions, assignment, critique and analysis.
This workshop is for inexperienced writers; people who want to turn their words into cash; people who want to write for newspapers and/or magazines.
