Gail Hoad

Gail Hoad is a communication specialist with over twenty years’ experience in communication and media and an adjunct lecturer at CARIMAC.

After working for five years in mainstream media as a journalist with the Gleaner, she moved into communication and development in 2001. She has worked in communications and corporate relations for a number of organisations including the World Bank’s Kingston office, UNICEF Jamaica and UNDP Jamaica. Her focus in these organisations has been on improving external relations and raising their profile among stakeholders. Media relations, speechwriting and event organisation were an integral part of her work with these organisations.

Gail has also worked to provide communication support to development programmes at the Caribbean Development Bank in Barbados, the former Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change in Jamaica and Panos Caribbean.

At present, Gail works as a communication consultant and trainer. She holds a Masters degree in Journalism, a Postgraduate Diploma in Population and Development, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Training.
