Angela Thame

Angela Thame has a wealth of international experience in television production, public relations and project management. Before returning to Jamaica in 1991 as Director of Programmes for CVM Television, she worked at WPIX-TV in New York as Manager of Community Relations, Senior Producer for 8 public affairs programmes and was the brainchild behind the production of Essence, a television programme that aired in over 65 markets across the United States and Barbados. In 1989, Angela moved to Chicago where she spent the next year and half producing the critically acclaimed Oprah Winfrey Show.

Angela’s success as a television producer in the international arena is well documented. She is a two-time Emmy Award winner (Black Conversation, WPIX-TV, New York – 1982 and The Oprah Winfrey Show – 1990).

Angela’s work is recognised locally. She was also the recipient of the President’s Award for Investigative Journalism from the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) for The Potter and the Clay. The PAJ also awarded her for her production of Thwaites and Company.

She was the creator and executive producer of Our Voices, a one-hour discussion programme and executive producer of the BMobile Singles, The Jamaican Barber Shop, Open Mind with Carlene on Hot 102. She was creative producer of All Together Sing for the years 2007 and 2008.

Angela has produced the Prime Minister’s Independence Gala for five consecutive years (2000-2004) and the ICC Award of Matches Ceremony at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Rose Hall in 2004. She was also part of the consortium that was successful in winning the bid to produce the ICC Cricket World Cup Opening Ceremony.
